Sophia Learning courses are self-paced and to be completed in a way that best fits your schedule and lifestyle. There is no suggested approach or preferred way - there is only your way!
However, it is strongly recommended to work with your school or program to verify any deadlines, requirements or other considerations. And in all cases, learners should plan accordingly around the limit of two (2) active courses at a time and allow up to 48 hours for Touchstone grading. See this article for more details on course limits: How Many Courses Can I Take?
Still, some learners may find it helpful to see examples of pacing styles. Do you plan to walk, sprint or settle in for a marathon to your educational goals? Find out below!
Take a Walk
- You could be taking several courses or using Sophia Learning as a supplement to a semester schedule.
- The 4-month subscription may be a good fit for you! Check out: Membership Overview and Pricing
- Consider setting weekly goals to help pace your learning at a comfortable rate. For example, set a goal to complete one Unit per week. This would mean you complete the average course in around a month!
- Add a second course to work on if you ever find yourself waiting on a Touchstone to be graded so you can keep up the momentum.
Gear Up for a Sprint
- You may be planning to complete a couple of courses to fulfill a requirement or to just try Sophia Learning
- A month-to-month subscription could be what you need! Check out: Membership Overview and Pricing
- Consider setting daily goals to help finish at a rate that meets your needs. As an example, you might complete two to three Challenges, a Milestone or a Touchstone each day.
- Take two courses simultaneously to help maximize your time and progress! Be sure to factor in a 48-hour turnaround time for Touchstone grading and plan your Touchstone submissions so you always have something to work on.
Settle in for a Marathon
- You are in it for the long haul! Learners here may plan to complete many courses or use Sophia Learning to reach education goals like an early graduation.
- The 12-month membership could be what you need. Check out: Membership Overview and Pricing
- Consider setting both weekly land monthly goals to help keep your learning on track. For example, try to complete at least one Unit per week and one course per month.
- Take advantage of having up to two active courses at a time to keep the momentum going throughout your experience!
PLEASE NOTE: The examples above are only to illustrate how you might approach the self-paced nature of Sophia Learning. They are not intended to be specific schedules, as each learner's circumstances are unique and the path to success is your own!
