Get the Most Out of Tutoring
Keep in mind these best practices when working with Brainfuse:
- Brainfuse tutors are knowledgeable about their core subject areas but do not have specific details regarding Sophia courses or assignments unless you provide that information in a session.
- You should come prepared to discuss a concept, problem set or issue to get the session started.
-
-
- Provide context about what work you completed or concepts that are already clear to you. This helps the tutor know where to begin.
- Let the tutor know if the course requires a particular methodology for an assignment.
-
-
- Brainfuse tutors will not just provide answers or complete problems on your behalf. Expect tutors to ask leading questions to better understand how to further support you. They also often use sample problems or simplify problems to demonstrate steps to reach a solution.
- Tutors may need some time to review materials you upload, especially if it’s a lengthy assignment.
- Ask questions if you need clarification or want to revisit something!
*Brainfuse is a tutoring service that requires engagement on part of the student in a session for the most productive outcomes. Brainfuse tutors are educators and truly want students to be able to leave a session more confident about their ability to complete assignments independently.
